Apprentice speed dating needs to be organized
For several years now, we have been offering career information days for job seekers at the Lauchhammer and Senftenberg sites with the participation of the employment agencies, the chambers and, above all, regional employers. In the search for new formats, the idea of an event for future apprentices arose together with the “Servicestelle Verbundausbildung” (Department of Collaborative Training and Apprenticeships). Thus, the first apprentice speed dating event took place last fall. Since we received positive feedback from both the apprentices and the participating companies, we are planning another event for June.
And preparation is required regarding:
1. Scheduling:
2. Contacting companies:
3. Draft poster / info sheet for the event:
4. Announcing the event:
This is what you should prepare for at the apprentice speed dating
On June 8 and 15, the time has come – TÜV Rheinland’s apprentice speed dating goes into the second round. Due to the existing contact restrictions, we are now offering individual consultations at fixed dates. In addition to job offers, potential apprentices will receive further information on all aspects of apprenticeships – for example: Where is the responsible vocational college, are there housing options, can the apprenticeship period be shortened, where can I get financial support…?
By the way, you don’t have to know exactly what kind of apprenticeship you want to do to take part in the apprentice speed dating. You will then be advised according to your preferences.
However, you should be prepared for these questions:
- What are your favorite subjects?
- Are you crafty?
- How organized are you?
- How would you rate your communication and teamwork skills?
- Are you flexible?
You are welcome to bring your application with you if you are interested in a specific apprenticeship. We will then forward it to the company.
My advice for aspiring apprentices
I’m looking forward to the apprentice speed dating event with great pleasure. I’m curious to see what kind of response our event will get and whether the professions I have in store will also meet the teenagers’ wishes. The most frequent questions asked by the prospective apprentices revolve around earnings, the duration of the apprenticeship, which vocational college is responsible and career opportunities. My experience shows that not every wish can be fulfilled, but so far I have always been able to find apprenticeships.
My advice to you:
Some seemingly unattractive professions can become your dream job.
If you’d like to take part in the apprentice speed-dating event, you’ll find all the information here. And if you can’t make it that day or you missed the appointment – no problem. Consultations are also possible in July and August upon request. We look forward to seeing you!
